Rosie McMillan

Woof Woof WOOF! Sorry… sometimes i get scared of strangers and react. Now that you have been here for a few moments though I can tell you are a nice person. Sorry about that. My mom and dad like to go for runs sometimes. They aren’t very fast but it’s ok, it’s fun anyways. I run around them in circles making sure that they keep moving. As their coach I will ensure that we run every day, as far as possible and as many different places as possible. Apparently my Garmin watch is recharged by small solar panels they keep in the back of the car next to where i sleep.

Rosie's Goal is to run at least 100km during the Great Climate Race

Progress: total distance run so far 73.0159km

Pledging to support Rosie at a rate of $0.25/km would raise about 25, if the goal is reached!

How it works

While Rosie is clocking up the distance on foot, all you need to do is let him know you have his back! For each kilometer he runs, you can sponsor him any amount you like. Of course you can set a cap of the maximum you'd like to donate. You won’t pay until the road trip is over, and you will be notified at the time with the total distance run and the amount of your contribution. Thanks for letting Rosie know that with every step he runs you will be supporting him.

All sponsorship is handled in a completely secure way - we neither receive or store any of your card details, that is handled by a trusted third party company and all details are passed to them via encrypted exchange. If you are interested to learn more about their security you can do so here

Rosie's cause: Tsleil Waututh Nation - Solar Project

Ben West

The Tsleil-Waututh Nation (pronounced Slay-Wa-Tuth) are the people of Burrad Inlet. They have lived in the area around what we now know as Vancouver for thousands of years. They have become a leading voice in the discussion of energy issues in Canada because they have not given their consent to a new proposed pipeline and oil tankers in their territory because it is a risk too great to accept. The Tsleil-Waututh Nation is building a new administrative building and health centre in North Vancouver which will be completed in the Fall of 2017. The project will include a grid-tied solar PV project that will reduce the energy demands of the new buildings and put approximately 47,000 kwh a year on to the local electricity grid.
